Fall Festivals & Events:

Rosenberg Railroad Museum Fall Fun Fest – September 22, 2018 – Rosenberg Railroad Museum – 2521 Avenue F, Rosenberg, TX 77471
Museum Open House, Texas Flyer Trackless Train, Model steam engine displays, Steam trains on the Garden Railroad run by the Houston Area Live Steamers, Steam train bounce house, games, face painting, music, crafts and much more!  $8 admission.  Two and under free.

Halloweekends – September 22-October 28, 2018 – Splashway Campgrounds in Sheridan – 5211 Main St, Sheridan, TX 77475
Crafts, a costume contest and “Trick-or-Treating” around the campgrounds.  Pumpkin Patch, pancake breakfast with Ray and fun for the whole family.  Splashway also offers a wide array of amenities all year long from kayaks, fishing, basketball, volleyball and so much more.

Texas Renaissance Festival – Weekends, September 29-November 25, 2018 – Todd Mission, Texas 
Ticket deals can usually be found on coupon websites.  Kids are free on Sundays.
The world’s largest Renaissance Festival has themes that change each weekend.

Greek Festival – October 4-7, 2018 – Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral – 3511 Yoakum Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77006
$5.00 (adults), Children 12 and under admitted free, Friday 11:00am – 3:00pm Free Admission
Enjoy performances, food, shopping and a kid zone.  If possible, go Friday mid-day for free admission.

Park to Port Bike Ride – October 6, 2018 – Hermann Park Bill Coats Bridge
Twenty-mile round-trip takes riders from Hermann Park’s Bayou Parkland east along the Brays Bayou Greenway trail to the Port of Houston where Port Houston sponsors a turn-around party at Hidalgo Park with snacks, drinks and music. Participants then ride back along the trail to Hermann Park for a celebratory Post-Ride Party under the Bill Coats Bridge.

Kids Okotober Festival – October 6, 20, 27, 2018 – Czech Center Museum Houston – 4920 San Jacinto St, Houston, TX 77004
Enjoy family friendly entertainment packed with live music, dance, and culture during the Centennial Oktober Festival. Participate with your family at a traditional puppet show, face painting and storytelling or take Polka lessons, dance, and enjoy Czech food & beer while we entertain your child.  There are different booths around our museum with activities like face-painting, balloon animals, and a snack & kolache station generously provided to us by the Kolache Factory. A visiting puppeteer who has a vast knowledge of Czech marionettes will put on an enchanting show for our audience and explain how marionettes have been a significant part of the Central European culture

Hocus Pocus Pops – October 12, 2018 – The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – 2005 Lake Robbins Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77380
The performance will feature popular selections from The Incredibles, Edward Scissorhands and The Lord of the Rings. The first 100 boys and “ghouls” to check in at Hocus Pocus Central in the North Plaza, fully costumed, get the chance to march in the Goblin Parade across the Main Stage. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and we will have arts and crafts, trick or treating, pumpkin decorating, games with prizes and more pre-concert activities in the Plaza area.

KBR Kids Day on Buffalo Bayou – October 13, 2018 – Guadalupe Plaza Park – 2311 Runnels Street, Houston, TX 77003
Free. hands-on crafts and learning opportunities from non-profit partners, birds of prey show, music and entertainment from local performers, the park’s splash pad and tasty treats from local food trucks. Pontoon boat rides ($2 per person; no children under 4)

Celebrate Halloween at the Houston Zoo! We’re inviting all little ghouls and goblins to come dressed in their spookiest or prettiest Halloween costume – and don’t forget the trick-or-treat bags! Zoo Boo is included in your paid Zoo admission, and is FREE for Zoo Members.

Symphonic Spooktacular – October 13, 2018 – Jones Hall – 615 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002
Don your costume and join the Houston Symphony for a fright night filled with spine-tingling chills and musical thrills! From creepy classics like The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Michael Jackson’s Thriller to music from The Incredibles, Edward Scissorhands and The Lord of the Rings, this spooktacular scarefest is guaranteed to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Howl-o-Ween Dog Walk, Costume Contest & Pet Expo – October 13, 2018 – Central Green Park in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch
You and your pet will enjoy a one-mile dog walk, a canine costume contest with big prizes, and a pet expo with awesome vendors. The first 200 registrants will receive an event t-shirt and goodie bag! All proceeds go to the homeless pets at the CAP shelter.

Bayou City Art Festival – October 13-14, 2018 – Streets Surrounding City Hall – 900 Smith St, Houston, TX 77002
Hundreds of artists are joined by music, food and fun. The festivals have raised 3.5 million dollars benefiting local arts and community service organizations, Houston parks and arts education initiatives for children and adults.

Go on a trick-or-treat monster hunt! 4 – 6 p.m. weekdays, 4 – 8 p.m. Thursdays, and all day weekends through Halloween Night!

Our favorite!  There are a lot of kid friendly activities, a lot of live fire demonstrations, a parade and more!
From the Houston Fire Museum: Leadership at HFD recently informed us that Fire Fest has been cancelled for 2018.  We will provide more information as available.

Free event with two music stages, large kid zone area, beer garden, multiple artistic act and more.

Energy Day is a free, family-friendly festival that celebrates and highlights the importance of energy and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in our daily lives. There will be a variety of interactive energy exhibits and booths, live music, food, contests and fun for all ages.  Geared toward K-12 students.

Free Admission, Games & Food Tickets for Purchase. Pumpkins, Kids Games, Bounce Houses, Wagon Ride.  There is free street parking.

$40 at gate, but family packs available.  Open admission good for Saturday or Sunday. Bring your own chair and ear protection!

$15 online, for ages 3 and up. All activities free once inside. Members get in free.

Find your perfect pumpkin for the fall at the Pumpkin Patch at The Lawn.  They are filling the greenspace with hundreds of beautiful pumpkins for you to buy with the proceeds benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation Texas. They will have live music, seasonal food & drinks, arts and crafts and a pumpkin decoration station!

Heroes for Children Pumpkin Patch – October 21, 2018 – Evelyn’s Park – 4400 Bellaire Blvd, Bellaire, TX 77401
Join Heroes For Children at Evelyn’s Park as they host an annual event benefiting children battling cancer and their families. Face Painting, Cookie Decorating, games and more provided! This is a free event and open to the public.

Food Trucks will be on site offering German Fare, desserts and beer for purchase. The Texas Legacy Czech Band will be performing throughout the night along with children activities. Tour the haunted USS Cavalla and fill your candy bag aboard the USS Stewart. Free shuttles to/from Mayfield Manor downtown Strand.

Kids will be creating Halloween ear headbands as well as face painting fun for the kids!

Touch-A-Truck 2018 & Model Train Festival – October 27, 2018 – 6th Street Texas City
Bring the kids to see more than 45 trucks from monster trucks to dump trucks, cranes to military vehicles, police and fire and much more! Face painting, balloon artists and giant corn box.  Held in partnership with the Texas City Model Train Festival. Touch-A-Truck is free, entry to the indoor model train exhibits for the Model Train Festival is $2 for kids and $5 for adults.

Guests at this fun themed Open Lab are invited to wear their spookiest and creative costumes and enjoy Engineering and Investigative science experiments! Older guests will make a ghost intruder detection alarm! That will alert them of all the ghouls and goblins sneaking around on Halloween night while our younger guests will explore the science of bubbling potions and make some ooey-gooey sticky activities to take home!

Be sure to come in costume! On-site contest registration, prizes and treats will be awarded to each child who enters the contest.

Halloween Monster Mash Bash – October 31, 2018 – Children’s Museum – 1500 Binz St, Houston, TX 77004
Howl at the moon while you bask in Houston’s ultimate Halloween party for kids. Let the ghoul times roll as you boogie to the hauntingly hip tunes of a wicked DJ along with monstrous characters during the Monster Mashup at 4:30 p.m. Move your bones in the Thriller Dance Party at 5 p.m. Paint Pumpkins! Then, trick-or-treat the night away. Be sure to come dressed in your most boo-tiful or frightfully freaky costume!

A great outing for the entire family with many Fall activities that include hay rides, giant slides, barrel train rides, pedal cars and animal encounters with camels, Baby Doll sheep, goats and MANY more. The walk-thru aviary where you can feed a variety of birds is a favorite as well as the recent addition of the Gem Mining experience and the Fossil Dig.

NEW this season….come pick flowers on the farm….our flower patch is growing and is full of beautiful flowers you can pick and take home. All activities are included in the price of admission with the exception of flower picking, camel and bird feedings which are $3 each (enough for 2 people to enjoy) and gems for Gem Mining (prices vary).
