What to adopt a prehistoric pet? Well now you can. At the Houston Museum of Natural Science, you can donate $25 to $5,000 and get anything from a personalized adoption certificate, invitations to donor events and a signed drawing of a prehistoric pet from Dr. Bob Bakker. All proceeds go to support the new Paleontology Hall.

I like this idea because my kids would be thrilled to "own" a prehistoric pet and I would be thrilled to no have to take it home. I've got enough mouths to feed and messes to clean up as it is! Maybe Joe will get a pet for his birthday after all...
