Houston Police Museum at Department Headquarters

Modified: Dec 20, 2020 by Jill Jarvis · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · #sponsoredpost · 4 Comments

The Houston Police Museum is small… but let me tell you why we love it.

It is located on the first floor of a real police station... meaning you get to walk through the metal detector, talk to real police officers and be a part of the action. Learn all about it HERE!

The Houston Police Museum is located in the lobby of the Houston Police Department headquarters and includes a full size police car, a helicopter mounted on the ceiling, badges, uniforms and artifacts from the Honor Guard, SWAT and Mounted Patrol.

It also includes a memorial wall honoring the ultimate sacrifice made by officers that died in the line of duty.

Metered parking is available around the Houston Police Museum, just read the signs. Some streets don't allow parking during the 4:00-6:00pm rush hour. Once inside, you'll need to sign in with your drivers license, so be sure to bring it.

My kids like looking at the uniforms and the wall of badges. His one complaint was that there was no where to play like at the Fire Museum.

Our tour took less than 30 minutes. I read that a guided group tour takes 1-1.5 hours.

I am glad we went to see the Houston Police Museum and recommend everyone stop by when you are in the area. Just find a parking spot, pay $1.25 for 1 hour of parking, and run inside. Admission is free and you get to meet the police officers!
