Ichiban Sushi & Tapioca - Our Search for Houston's Best Restaurants for Kids!

We visited Ichiban Sushi & Tapioca for a very unique birthday party. The 6 year old birthday girl might just be considered a foodie and loves Japanese food. Her parents (from whom she gets her adventurous eating habits from) found a great place for her party.

Ichiban is a family owned restaurant that is casual and family friendly. The front room has tables and a sushi bar... and the back room looks like a Japanese restaurant (like in Japan), with low tables and a no-shoes policy.

The back room was reserved for lots of 6 year old girls and their families (and I think that it is usually closed off during normal hours). The front section had lots of diners coming and going, ordering sushi, noodles and tapioca tea. (And I love boba tea.)

The kids ate bento boxes, everyone munched on sushi and I drank my peach tapioca tea.

The staff was very friendly and had everything organized well. It looked liked they kept good care of the other customers as well, even as they tended to the party.

The food was delicious and we ate roll after roll of sushi. Plus, everyone was excited to be at the Japanese style tables!

At the end, the kids all ate mochi ice cream, making the meal complete.

The restrooms were small but clean. (I don't remember a changing table, so plan ahead!)

Overall, it was a really good restaurant (and party!). Check it out if you are looking for Japanese food... or a very unique birthday party.
