Car at Hard Rock Cafe Houston
Hard Rock Cafe is located in Downtown Houston in the theater district. We have been pointing out the giant guitar on the roof for years, but had never been to visit. I wasn’t really sure how to get to the giant guitar (besides up and over the bayou and buildings) and I wasn’t sure if it was good for little kids.

Lucky for us, we had tickets to the symphony at Jones Hall last weekend. When we came out from the family show, we saw Hard Rock Cafe on the far side of Jones Plaza.

Guitar at Hard Rock Cafe
I have three little rock stars that like to listen to old school rock and roll with grandpa, so we headed over for lunch. When we arrived, I was pleased to find that even the youngest rock stars are welcome here. Hard Rock Cafe has high chairs, a large kid menu and plenty of music to cover the noise of my kids.

Hard Rock Cafe Pasta with Red Sauce from Kid Meal
On Saturday, at lunch, the restaurant was not too busy. We were quickly ushered in to an oversized booth next to the car on the roof and lots of rock and roll posters, guitars and collectibles.

Veggie Burger at Hard Rock Cafe
Hard Rock Cafe has many kids meal options and all are $7.50 and include a side and drink. My kids chose Pasta with Red Sauce and a salad and fries. I tried to convince them to try something that their mom wouldn’t make at home, but they were determined. And they were also pleased with their decision.

I ordered the Big Cheeseburger, with a veggie patty, and a side salad for $14.00. It was expensive, but it was good.

We had very quick service and our waitress may have been the best waitress we ever had. She was patient with us, very quick to get us refills and made sure we had a good experience. I was really impressed.

Waterfall at Jones Plaza
While we were eating lunch, Brooke commented that the music was really good at this restaurant. No surprise here. For us, the fun of this place was worth the tourist-priced food.

To make it even better, just outside of Hard Rock Cafe is the Wortham Center and the waterfall that is next to Buffalo Bayou. And there is a second one in Jones Plaza by Jones Hall. We played at these for a long time before heading home.

Brooke has been asking to go back to the rock and roll place, daily, so I’m sure we will be back soon.
