Top 5 Things to Do this Week & Weekend, in Houston, with Kids – May 25-31, 2015

Entrance to African Forest at Houston Zoo
Each week, I provide a list of things to do in Houston with kids.  The full event lists are for Thursday through Wednesday and can always be found HERE.  (Scroll through to find the dates you are looking for!)

So you can look forward to the events Houston has going on this week, here are the favorites for Monday through Sunday, May 18-25, 2015!

1.  Check out the new Gorilla Exhibit at the Houston Zoo.  It’s now open to the public and is free with zoo admission.

2.  Take a family hike with Hike It Baby.  There are lots of hikes, all over town.  See the schedule HERE.

3.  On Tuesday, head to Discovery Green for Toddler Tuesday with Daniel Tiger!  This free weekly event is at 10:30am and includes a storytime and character visit. BigKidSmallCity will be at the park and be sure to come say “hi”!

4.  On Friday, head to the Nature Discovery Center to explore nature after dark at  Park After Dark.

5.  Every Friday and Saturday at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land, kids can practice their reading skills with the P.A.W.S. Reading Program.  Kids have the opportunity to read to trained therapy dogs that don’t judge or correct… just encourage kids to be confident readers!

Find a whole lot more to do in the weekly event posts.  For all the summer break resources you need, go here!
