Main Street Theater’s Shadow Interpreted Performance of Flat Stanley

Main Street Theater’s Theater for Youth productions offer accommodations performances with a specific focus on Sensory-Friendly/Relaxed Performances for people on the autism spectrum and ASL Interpreted performances.

For The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, they will be doing a shadow-interpreted performance of the show where the ASL interpreters are on stage during the performance, each assigned to an actor, acting things out as they sign.

Dr. Brian Kilpatrick will assist Sharon Hill from the University of Houston and help direct the ASLI students for this show.

Dr. Kilpatrick is a retired actor and professor. He is deaf and pioneered the work of shadow interpreting in Houston and Main Street Theater is thrilled to have him on the project.
