Museum District Day is this Weekend – Free Admission to 18 Houston Museums – September 15, 2012

The annual Museum District Day is this Saturday, September 15, 2012. Eighteen museums will waive their general admission fee. There are 4 “walk zones” which museums that are next door to the other. To get between the zones, there are free pedicabs.

Holocaust Museum Houston – Caroline @ Calumet
Asia Society Texas Center – Southmore @ Caroline
The John C. Freeman Weather Museum – Southmore @ Caroline
Houston Museum of African American Culture – Caroline @ Wentworth
Czech Center Museum Houston – San Jacinto @ Wichita
Houston Center for Contemporary Craft – Main @ Rosedale
Lawndale Art Center – Main @ Rosedale
Buffalo Soldiers National Museum – Caroline @ Alabama

The Jung Center – Montrose @ Berthea
Contemporary Arts Museum Houston – Montrose
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston – Bissonnet

Children’s Museum of Houston – Binz @ La
The Health Museum – Hermann Dr. @ Crawford Houston Museum of Natural Science – Hermann
Rice University Art Gallery – Sewall Hall

The museums are sure to be crazy busy but this is a great was to scope out the Museum District. We recommend visiting as many museums as you can on September 15 and then making a plan to visit your favorites later in the year.
