Fall Festivals & Events:

Rosenberg Railroad Museum Fall Fun Fest – September 14, 2019 – Rosenberg Railroad Museum – 2521 Avenue F, Rosenberg, TX 77471
The theme is “May the steam be with you” and costumes are encouraged! Museum Open House, Texas Flyer Trackless Train, Model steam engine displays and much more!  $8 admission.  Two and under free.

Halloweekends – September 20-October 27, 2019 – Splashway Campgrounds in Sheridan – 5211 Main St, Sheridan, TX 77475
Crafts, a costume contest and “Trick-or-Treating” around the campgrounds.  Pumpkin Patch and fun for the whole family.  Splashway also offers a wide array of amenities all year long from kayaks, fishing, basketball, volleyball and so much more.

Greek Festival – October 3-6, 2019 – Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral – 3511 Yoakum Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77006
$5.00 (adults), Children 12 and under admitted free, Friday 11:00am – 3:00pm Free Admission
Enjoy performances, food, shopping and a kid zone.  If possible, go Friday mid-day for free admission.

Texas Renaissance Festival – Weekends, October 5-December 1, 2019 – Todd Mission, Texas 
Ticket deals can usually be found on coupon websites.  Kids are free on Sundays.
The world’s largest Renaissance Festival has themes that change each weekend.

Kids Okotober Festival – October 12, 2019 – Czech Center Museum Houston – 4920 San Jacinto St, Houston, TX 77004
Enjoy family friendly entertainment packed with live music, dance, and culture during the Centennial Oktober Festival.

Hocus Pocus Pops – October 18, 2019 – The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – 2005 Lake Robbins Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77380
The first 100 boys and girls to check in at Hocus Pocus Central in the North Plaza, fully costumed, get the chance to march in the Goblin Parade. Hop onto the Great Pumpkin Express and carve out some great (or gruesome) memories on The Pavilion’s haunted grounds. Train rides begin at 5:30 p.m.

KBR Kids Day on Buffalo Bayou – October 12, 2019 – Guadalupe Plaza Park – 2311 Runnels Street, Houston, TX 77003
Free. hands-on crafts and learning opportunities from non-profit partners, birds of prey show, music and entertainment from local performers, the park’s splash pad and tasty treats from local food trucks. Pontoon boat rides ($2 per person; no children under 4)

Zoo Boo – TBD – Houston Zoo – 6200 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, TX 77030
Celebrate Halloween at the Houston Zoo! We’re inviting all little ghouls and goblins to come dressed in their spookiest or prettiest Halloween costume – and don’t forget the trick-or-treat bags! Zoo Boo is included in your paid Zoo admission, and is FREE for Zoo Members.

Oktoberfest – October 12, 2019 – First Evangelical Lutheran Church Midtown – 1311 Holman St, Houston, TX 77004
The wristband is all-inclusive- games, prizes, a plate of food (from The Fleishwagon German food truck) and a drink (beer or root beer).F

Symphonic Spooktacular – October 20, 2019 – Miller Outdoor Theatre –
6000 Hermann Park Dr, Houston, TX 77030
Wear your favorite costume and join the Houston Symphony for a fright night filled with spine-tingling chills and musical thrills! From creepy classics to movie favorites, this spooktacular scarefest is guaranteed to get you in the Halloween spirit.H

Bayou City Art Festival – October 12-13, 2019 – Streets Surrounding City Hall – 900 Smith St, Houston, TX 77002
Hundreds of artists are joined by music, food and fun. The festivals have raised 3.5 million dollars benefiting local arts and community service organizations, Houston parks and arts education initiatives for children and adults.

Halloween Monster Mayhem – TBD – Children’s Museum of Houston – 1500 Binz St, Houston, TX 77004
Go on a trick-or-treat monster hunt! 4 – 6 p.m. weekdays, 4 – 8 p.m. Thursdays, and all day weekends through Halloween Night!

FireFest – TBD – Val Jahnke Training Facility – 8030 Braniff Street, Houston, TX 77061
This was cancelled last year. I don’t know if it’s on for this year!

East End Street Fest – October 19, 2019 – 4 block Esplanade area on 2800 Navigation
Free event with two music stages, large kid zone area, beer garden, multiple artistic act and more.

Energy Day – October 19, 2019 – Sam Houston Park – 1000 Bagby St, Houston, TX 77002
Energy Day is a free, family-friendly festival with nearly 70 interactive demonstrations and exhibits that teach students and their families about the various forms of energy through STEM fields, along with efficiency, conservation, and other related STEM industries.

Pumpkin Patch October 19&20, 2019 – Nature Discovery Center – 7112 Newcastle, Bellaire, TX 77401
Free Admission, Games & Food Tickets for Purchase. Pumpkins, Kids Games, Bounce Houses, Wagon Ride.  There is free street parking.

Wings Over Houston – October 19&20, 2019 – Ellington Airport – 510 Ellington Field, Houston, TX 77034
$45 at gate, but family packs available and discounts are online.  Open admission good for Saturday or Sunday. Bring your own chair and ear protection!

ArBOOretum! – October 19, 2019 – Houston Arboretum and Nature Center – 4501 Woodway Dr, Houston, TX 77024
$15 online, for ages 3 and up. All activities free once inside. Members get in free. (Check affiliate Groupon for discounted memberships!) Also, blood drive donors get in free!

Trick or Treat Trails, Train rides, Live reptiles, Pumpkin decorating, Halloween Market, Spooky Science Show and Blood Drive.

No onsite parking, all guests must enter via the 610 Entrance.
This event is rain or shine.

Scream on the Green – October 25, 2019 – Discovery Green – 1500 McKinney St, Houston, TX 77010
Free. Citywide costume contest and Halloween celebration for the whole family! Prizes, music and more!O

Haunted Submarine and Safe Trick-or-Treat – TBD – Seawolf Park – 100 Seawolf Park Blvd, Galveston, TX 77550
Tour the haunted USS Cavalla and fill your candy bag aboard the USS Stewart. Free shuttles to/from Mayfield Manor downtown Strand.A

Touch-A-Truck 2019 & Model Train Festival – October 26, 2019 – 6th Street Texas City
Bring the kids to see more than 45 trucks from monster trucks to dump trucks, cranes to military vehicles, police and fire and much more! Face painting, balloon artists and giant corn box.  Held in partnership with the Texas City Model Train Festival. Touch-A-Truck is free, entry to the indoor model train exhibits for the Model Train Festival is $2 for kids and $5 for adults.9

Scream In – TBD – HPL Central Library – 500 McKinney St, Houston, TX 77002
Youth ages 10-15 are invited to a screamingly good time at our annual after-hours event! The evening includes ghostly games, spooky crafts, costume contests, and an eerie trip through the Haunted Maze. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for most original and scariest costumes.

Toddler Tuesday: Celebrate Halloween – October 29, 2019 – Discovery Green – 1500 McKinney St, Houston, TX 77010
Be sure to come in costume! On-site contest registration, prizes and treats will be awarded to each child who enters the contest.

Halloween Monster Mash Bash – TBD – Children’s Museum – 1500 Binz St, Houston, TX 77004
Howl at the moon while you bask in Houston’s ultimate Halloween party for kids. Let the ghoul times roll as you boogie to the hauntingly hip tunes of a wicked DJ along with monstrous characters during the Monster Mashup at 4:30 p.m. Move your bones in the Thriller Dance Party at 5 p.m. Paint Pumpkins! Then, trick-or-treat the night away. Be sure to come dressed in your most boo-tiful or frightfully freaky costume!

Halloween Trick or Treat – October 31, 2018 – CityCentre – 800 Town and Country Blvd, Houston, TX 77024
Trick-or-treat followed by a monster mash for kids and parents.  Bring your own bucket or bag.

Day of Dead Festival – November 2-3, 2019 – MECA – 1900 Kane Street Houston, Texas 77007
Free.  Learn how countries throughout the Latin American world celebrate this day!

Park to Port Bike Ride– November 16, 2019 –Hermann Park Bill Coats Bridge
The 20-mile round-trip takes riders from Hermann Park’s Bayou Parkland east along the Brays Bayou Greenway trail to the Port of Houston where Port Houston sponsors a turn-around party with snacks, drinks and music. Participants then ride back along the trail to Hermann Park for a celebratory Post-Ride Party. The Park to Port Bike Ride is open to riders of all levels and is not a race.

Via Color Street Painting Festival – November 23-24, 2019 – Streets Surrounding City Hall – 900 Smith St, Houston, TX 77002
200 artists paint the streets surrounding City Hall!  Watch the artists work, enjoy music, activities and food!  Via Colori is a fundraiser for The Center for Hearing and Speech.

Come enjoy the Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festivities at Blessington Farms. A great outing for the entire family with many Fall activities that include hay rides, giant slides, barrel train rides, pedal cars and animal encounters with camels, Baby Doll sheep, goats and MANY more…

Most pumpkin varieties are $0.50/lb. LOTS and lots of PUMPKINS and TONS of fantastic photo opportunities! Happening September 21nd – November 17th….every weekend (weather permitting).C

Corn Maze and Fall Festival open weekends starting late September.  Follow with a trip to Bayou Wildlife Park!
